Bhimgoda-Barrage

The Bhimgoda Barrage is built on the Ganges River at Har ki Pauri near Haridwar in Haridwar district, Uttarakhand. Built as the headworks of the Upper Ganges Canal, the primary purpose for the barrage is irrigation but it also serves to provide water for hydroelectric power production and control floods.

Chaudhary-Charan-Singh-Barrage

Chaudhary Charan Singh Madhya Ganga Barrage is built on the river Ganga which is 10 kilometers west of Bijnor city. The major purpose of this barrage is to feed water to the Madhya Ganga Canal for irrigation.

Koteshwar-Dam

Koteshwar Dam, about 20km downstream of Tehri Dam on river Bhagirathi, is a 400MW HEP which facilitate the functioning of Tehri Power Complex as a major peaking station in Northern grid as reservoir created by Koteshwar Dam having a live storage capacity of 35.0 MCM function as lower (balancing) reservoir for Tehri PSP. Water released from Tehri Dam is regulated at Koteshwar Dam for purpose of irrigation and maintenance of aquatic life in downstream areas.

Narora-Barrage

Narora Barrage is built on river Ganga in Narora district. Lower Ganga Canal and Parallel Lower Ganga Canal are constructed at right UP Stream side. Both canals are operated through this Barrage for irrigation purpose. National Atomic Power Plant, Narora is also fed by water through.

Tehri-Dam

Tehri Dam and HPP (1000 MW) comprises a 260.50m high Earth & Rockfill dam, one of the highest dams of its type in the world, a Spillway System designed for PMF of 15540 cumecs and a drop of 220m, having one Chute Spillway and four Shaft Spillways and an underground Power House housing four Turbine designed to operate with a head variation of 90m.
