PROJECTS
Bhimgoda-Barrage
The Bhimgoda Barrage is built on the Ganges River at Har ki Pauri near Haridwar in Haridwar district, Uttarakhand. Built as the headworks of the Upper Ganges Canal, the primary purpose for the barrage is irrigation but it also serves to provide water for hydroelectric power production and control floods.
Chaudhary-Charan-Singh-Barrage
Chaudhary Charan Singh Madhya Ganga Barrage is built on the river Ganga which is 10 kilometers west of Bijnor city. The major purpose of this barrage is to feed water to the Madhya Ganga Canal for irrigation.
Koteshwar-Dam
Koteshwar Dam, about 20km downstream of Tehri Dam on river Bhagirathi, is a 400MW HEP which facilitate the functioning of Tehri Power Complex as a major peaking station in Northern grid as reservoir created by Koteshwar Dam having a live storage capacity of 35.0 MCM function as lower (balancing) reservoir for Tehri PSP. Water released from Tehri Dam is regulated at Koteshwar Dam for purpose of irrigation and maintenance of aquatic life in downstream areas.
Lav-Kush-Barrage
Lav Khush Barrage is built across the Ganges river in Nawabganj in Kanpur. The purpose of barrage is to divert water for irrigation.
Maneri-Bhali-Phase-1
The Maneri Bhali Phase-I is a concrete dam on the Bhagirathi River located at Maneri in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. The project is currently owned by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam.The primary purpose of the dam is to divert water into a tunnel which feeds the 90 megawatts (120,000 hp) run-of-the-river Tiloth Power Plant.
Maneri-Bhali-Phase-2
Maneri Bhali Phase-II is a 304MW hydro power project. It is located on Bhagirathi river/basin in Uttarakhand, India. The project is currently owned by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam. The gross head of the project is 285m.
Narora-Barrage
Narora Barrage is built on river Ganga in Narora district. Lower Ganga Canal and Parallel Lower Ganga Canal are constructed at right UP Stream side. Both canals are operated through this Barrage for irrigation purpose. National Atomic Power Plant, Narora is also fed by water through.
Pashulok-Barrage
Pashulok Barrage is a barrage located on the Ganges River just south of Rishikesh in Dehradun district, Uttarakhand. The main purpose of the barrage is to divert water into a canal on the east bank of the river which feeds water to the Chilla Power Plant (144MW).
Singoli-Bhatwari-HEP
Singoli Bhatwari HEP is a 99MW Hydro Power project in Uttarakhand on river Mandakini. The project was developed by L&T Power Development and is currently owned by ReNew Jal Urja Private Limited with a stake of 100%. Singoli Bhatwari is a run-of-river project with gross head and net head of the project at 214m and 188.17m respectively. The plant houses three 33-MW turbine-generator units equipped with a state-of-the-art SCADA system.
Srinagar-Dam
Srinagar HEP is a 330 MW hydro project on the river Alaknanda in Tehri/ Pauri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand. The run-of-river project was developed by Alaknanda Hydro Power Company (AHPCL), a GVK group company.
Tehri-Dam
Tehri Dam and HPP (1000 MW) comprises a 260.50m high Earth & Rockfill dam, one of the highest dams of its type in the world, a Spillway System designed for PMF of 15540 cumecs and a drop of 220m, having one Chute Spillway and four Shaft Spillways and an underground Power House housing four Turbine designed to operate with a head variation of 90m.
Vishnuprayag-HEP
Vishnuprayag is a 400MW hydro power project located on Alaknanda river in Chamoli disctrict, Uttarakhand. The ROR project is developed and owned by Jaiprakash Power Ventures. The gross head and net head of the project are 955m and 915m respectively.
